Corporate renaming
editSES Global is now named SES. Check the General Assembly (14th December 2006) of SES :
The website also changed to http://www.ses.com/ (www.ses-global.com is still active)
That means the page name should change ?

- Yes, it should have been moved, and now it has been. Thanks for bringing that up. Bastin 12:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Satellite Overview
editI am not sure whether the active satellite fleet of all SES companies should be visible here, what do you think? There is almost no information about their satellites on Wikipedia so far.
Slycow (talk) 09:54, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
There is a link to the SES' satellite fleet map added and you'll find information on the satellite fleets in the Wiki entries of the SES operating companies, SES New Skies, SES AMERICOM, SES Astra.
Ranking
editProbably someone should look after the article and see what could be added. Also, the ranking needs an update, I guess.Slycow (talk) 17:19, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Source for a lot of corporate (and some satellite) history
editThere is a secondary source published today, prior to the SES-9 mission, that includes a LOT of history on mergers and acquisitions at the company level, as well as some history on a half-dozen of the SES satellites. Here is that link: http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2016/02/spacex-falcon9-ses-9-launch/. NasaSpaceFlight often updates their launch day articles for a few days, so expect the title (and maybe link) to change a bit. But the SES history is, I'm very sure, not going to change as the launch prep and launch progresses. Cheers. N2e (talk) 15:11, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
C-Band Alliance
editThis article includes some rather one-sided language about the C-Band Alliance and related issues. For example: "SES teamed up with Intelsat ... to protect the quality and reliability of existing video and audio services to United States households ... while enabling wireless operators to access 100 MHz of C-band spectrum for deployment of next generation 5G services in the United States." This information is factual, but it reads like a corporate press release and does not mention 1) just how much money SES stood to make from this "spectrum clearing" plan, or 2) the concerns that other radio spectrum users and government oversight groups have about the plan. For example: https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/c-band-alliance-taken-to-task-fcc-oversight-hearing/. I recommend augmenting the current language in this article with some information from independent sources. Reedcspurling (talk) 22:46, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
