Merger proposal
editI propose to merge the following pages into this page: Pentagonal pyramidal number, Hexagonal pyramidal number, and Heptagonal pyramidal number. All three of these are stub articles with very little content of their own other than the formulae for each of these numbers (easily derivable from the formula on this page), and seem to be of very little mathematical importance on their own. - It has not been shown that one or more of these sequences has some special mathematical significance beyond merely being a certain type of pyramidal number with a certain formula (as is true for the square pyramidal numbers, not included in this proposal). So unless that can be shown, I agree with this merge proposal. —David Eppstein (talk) 18:58, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with both of you. --JBL (talk) 12:04, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- Makes sense to me, too. XOR'easter (talk) 15:40, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- I support the proposal. A merged article, giving some of these as examples, seems more useful than a separate article for each. Adumbrativus (talk) 02:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Done Given the lack of opposition, I performed this merge. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:58, 24 December 2021 (UTC)
