Rotherham
editRotherham@s a club that's big in spirit but relativel small in gates... is that 40% above average per capita at Rotherham games or an absolute figure? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.36.18.129 (talk) 13:11, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

editOh my God thank you whoever wrote this, as I tried previously, and they deleted it! Saying it was nonsense!
Good article
editI'm nothing to do with this company, but I think it's an interesting, useful entry. I was looking for information on pies when doing an entry on 'meat pies' for my blog, and this was very helpful.
2003 figures
editThese all need updating, the Leicester Mercury from 22 May 2007 shows Pukka as 100 in the top 400 companies in Leicestershire and Rutland with a turnover of £25,012,429 and employing 262 people, so three jobs have been lost in three years as well as ten million quid :(

Stott or Storer?
editThe article cites Trevor Stott as being the founder of PP, but then goes on to cite Trevor Storer as being the 904th richest person in the United Kingdom. I don't think this is correct...any suggestions on which is correct, Stott or Storer? Darkieboy236 (talk) 09:34, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
It's Storer...and his sons are Tim and Andrew...not Gerry —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.8.150.6 (talk) 15:23, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
"Puker" pies
editThe name 'Pukka Pies' is often deliberately mispronounced as 'Puker Pies' in many places in Britain. This is a sarcastic reference to their supposed low quality and ubiquitous presence in fish and chip shops. --80.176.142.11 (talk) 14:26, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- We would of course need a reference to this claim. As far as my own opionions on the matter go, I am from northern England and was told by a vegetarian friend, who used to live in Leicester, that Pukka Pies were "disgusting". Despite which, when visiting a colony of Central England (Barmouth, in North Wales) I found Pukka Pies quite palatable. In my view they are as good as Hollands Pies, which is the equivalent archetypal brand in N.W. England. 62.249.253.226 (talk) 21:32, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
I don't think it's widespread enough to be anything more than a brief note tbh, but it seems more common nearer the southern end of England. I must admit I personally I find them to be over-heavy on the MSG and artificial flavourings/spices. You get that 'Pot Noodle' after taste.
