Unexplained reversion
edit@Doc James: You recently reverted, without any explanation whatsoever, certain copyedits that I had made to improve the clarity of this article. I stand by the explanations of these copyedits that I gave in their edit summaries, and have restored them. Please do not revert these changes again without at least explaining your reasoning and participating in discussion of the issues involved. One of the problems in the version you restored is that it sounds at first glance as though it is saying that olanzapine must be a necessary component of any first-line regimen for schizophrenia:
- The first-line psychiatric treatment for schizophrenia is antipsychotic medication which includes olanzapine.
My edit makes it clearer that olanzapine is one medication among others:
- The first-line psychiatric treatment for schizophrenia is antipsychotic medication; olanzapine is one such medication.
More generally: please do not revert the work of others without having a specific reason for doing so.

- When I first read the change it did not really make sense.
- But re reading it is not unreasonable. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:01, 15 March 2018 (UTC)

Feedback for my sentence
editHello dear wikipedia Community😊 As it was discussed, the quality of my english is way below I thought it was. (As maybe you can see at the sentences here I don't know 😁) But this article I wrote for this Site, I really liked it. So if someone have the time to work my grammatical errors out of this article, will have my kindest wishes 🙂 BECAUSE I think the Information I wanted to communicate with this article is not that much wrong, I think, I mean the strong binding affinity to Overall all receptors known to interact with neuroleptics makes olanzapine somehow unique between the most common neuroleptics (except maybe chlorprothixen But thats not a maintenance Meditation). So If someone wants to correct my sentence, feel free to so so, I would be very thankfull😊
Heres the article:
By looking at the binding affinities of olanzapine, it seems that, in contrast to other antipsychotics, which, at least in most of the cases, have a "dual" affinity profile (weak dopaminergic though strong histaminergic or the opposite), olanzapine has high binding affinities to rigorous all receptortypes usually involved in a neuroleptic receptorprofile (so it has both, strong dopaminergic and histaminergic properties). This can eventually be one cause (of many), why olanzapine was ranked third in one big meta analysis.Hello dear wikipedia Community😊 As it was discussed, the quality of my english is way below I thought it was. - It's difficult to understand what you are trying to say, the problem is more than grammar. What I think you are trying to say seems wrong. Olanzapine is an antagonist of MANY different receptor types, as you can see in the table. When you write that it was ranked "third", we don't know what is being measured. Even if the writing was perfectly clear, though, this kind of information needs a citation to an original source. If you provided that citation, and indicated which information in that citation you think is missing from Wikipedia, I could perhaps help with that addition. Verytas (talk) 01:22, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- First, thank you for answering me😊
- My thought was, that other antipsychotics, if they have strong affinity for Histamin receptors, doesn't have a strong dopamine affinity (for example quetiapine having a occupation of 30% for dopaminereceptors compared to a 80% occupancy for olanzapine) so I thought this ability from olanzapine showing strong affinity for both receptors is worth to mention as it is more an exception than a rule for antipsychotics. With "ranked three" I meant the antipsychotic efficacy as it was described in the big meta study in my source (this study is reffered to in many other antypsychotic wikipedia articles because it is one of the biggest analysis in this regard so I thought it was worth to mention).
- Again, thank you for your answer and your potentially work for me, have a great day, bye🙂🙂 Materie34 (talk) 13:04, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
Nothing about Akathisia?
editSo it’s “movement disorders” and not specifically Akathisia?? Like it has a name. Lady Meg (talk) 05:39, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oh I see, the code word for Akathisia is “restlessness” once again. Lady Meg (talk) 05:41, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
history-to-date? annually? "with more than 3 million prescriptions"
editHoward from NYC (talk) 16:42, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- There is a year now, 2022. BadEditor93 (talk) 11:12, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
"with more than 3 million prescriptions"
though I only checked five pharmaceuticals entries on wikipedia whenever this particular statistic is mentioned about pharmaceuticals there is never the necessary context
Q: next steps?
