changes... - conflict of interest
editI am writing my conflict of interest at the beginning so everyone is aware. I work for EAAP assisting them with EU projects and finances.
I would like the Wikipedia community to look at the following changes I would like to make and comment...
Name: The organization is now called, European Federation of Animal Science, but still uses the acronym EAAP, so change the title to European Federation of Animal Science
The Italian translation is incorrect, it should be Federazione Europea Zootecnica (not Zootecnia)
Addition: Under "President" I would like to add "Secretary General Andrea Rosati" :http://eaap.org/Content/Secretariat.htm
Under "History and Purpose" section, add the following sentence: Nowadays, members include countries from Europe, Mediterranean and the former Soviet Union. http://eaap.org/Content/Members.htm
Move: Together with the British Society of Animal Science and the Institut national de la recherche agronomique, it issues the academic journal Animal, published by the Cambridge University Press. to a section titled "Publications" as EAAP now produces more than 1 academic journal. and change to: Animal: The official academic journal of the European Federation for Animal Science (EAAP), British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) and Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA). http://www.animal-journal.eu/
Under "Publications" also add the following: Animal Frontiers: A magazine created from a joint venture between the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS), the Canadian Society of Animal Science (CSAS), the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) and the and the American Meat Science Association (AMSA). http://www.animalfrontiers.org/site/misc/about.xhtml
In addition to a new "Publications" section, I would also like to add a new section titled "Involvement in EU-Projects" and list as well as link to EU-project websites that EAAP is involved in, including:
- AnimalChange, http://www.animalchange.eu/
- EU-PLF, http://www.eu-plf.eu/
- Rednex, http://www.rednex-fp7.eu/
- RuminOmics, http://www.ruminomics.eu/
Add another section titled "Annual Meetings" as this is the major meeting of EAAP. Would include date and location but would separate into past, current and future years. http://eaap.org/Previous_Annual_Meetings/index.html, http://www.eaap2013.org/, http://www.eaap2014.org/ 77.43.84.18 (talk) 16:05, 7 February 2014 (UTC) Rebecca Neilson 3 January 2014 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rebecca.neilson (talk • contribs) 17:57, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks for being so clear about your conflict of interest, that's a big help. I've moved the page to the name you indicate; if there's a source that gives a date for the change, I'll add that too.
- Your statutes are quite specific about the Italian name. The same spelling is used here. Do you have some reason to think that it is incorrect (I agree that "zootecnica" is the more common form, but that doesn't make "zootecnia" wrong)?
- Which countries of the former Soviet Union did you mean? Because if you mean the Baltic States, I do not think that is a description they would appreciate. I suggest that "Europe and the Mediterranean region" would be a better description
- I'll try to look at some of the other points you mention over the next day or two. Thanks for your input, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:24, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
