Move non-place subjects to Other
edit@AntiDionysius: Moving the dog and the cheese to the Other category makes the page structure more consistent and logical and makes it easier to navigate. On mobile, only the section headers are visible until clicked. Putting the dog and cheese in the Place category is confusing. 184.83.236.148 (talk) 00:10, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- This kind of conceptual question seems to be something of a blind spot in the disambiguation manual of style. The closest I can find to a guiding example is that it points to Aurora (disambiguation) as an exemplary page, which seems to order things according to their context as opposed to their intrinsic type:
- "The Aurora, a crashed spaceship in the survival adventure game Subnautica" is listed under Gaming rather than Transportation
- "Aurora, an airship in the novel Airborn" under Books rather than Transportation
- "Aurora-Verlag, a New York-based German language publisher co-founded in 1944 by Lion Feuchtwanger" under Books rather than Organizations
- Which would to me be an argument for keeping the current ordering. On the other hand, I really don't feel very strongly about this and ease of navigation is of course a desirable trait. Honestly given the list is so short we could also just do away with the categorisation all together and just have it be a single list. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:29, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- Done. And it looks fine on mobile. 184.83.236.148 (talk) 01:49, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
