Fair use rationale for Image:Bulgaria football union.gif

edit

Image:Bulgaria football union.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:02, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Streak without a loss

edit

Regarding the 21 match undefeated run - it doesn't take into account that on 8 September 2007, Bulgaria lost 0:2 against the Netherlands in a Euro 2008 qualifier. So, the information needs to be changed accordingly. Cheers! Oleg Morgan 16:00, 17 August 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.85.17.168 (talk) Reply

Orphaned references in Bulgaria national football team

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Bulgaria national football team's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "FIFA":

Neither are accurate. --82.41.251.96 (talk) 12:11, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Will someone fix this please and why on earth is this wiki locked? --82.41.251.96 (talk) 22:09, 13 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Because somebody from Michigan decided to disrupte this page through multiple IPs. Can you explain your changes, I'll correct information for you, but please give any kind of reliable reference to do so. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! Capitalization in section headings

edit

Per WP:SECTIONCAPS: "Use sentence-style capitalization, not title-style capitalization, in section and table headings. Capitalize the first letter of the first word, but leave the rest lower case (except for proper names and other items that would ordinarily be capitalized in running text). Thus Section headings, not Section Headings; Previous club, not Previous Club." This the standard style followed by all Wikipedia articles so there no real good reason not to do it here. Common nouns do not require capitalization when used in section headings. - Marchjuly (talk) 21:44, 27 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Use of non-free images

edit

There are restrictions placed on how non-free images such as File:Bulgaria_football_union.png can be used on Wikipedia because specific type of licensing used. Non-free images are considered to be protected by copyright for Wikipedia purposes and, therefore, need to comply with WP:NFC. For images, such as logos and photos, etc., this means that all 10 of the criteria in WP:NFCCP need to be satisfied and the image is not to be used in any of the ways listed in WP:NFC#UUI. The national team logo does not have the separate, specific non-free use rationale it needs for this particular use per WP:NFCC#10c, and it cannot be used in the article without said rationale. Normally, the add would probably be OK to use after adding the necessary rationale, but in this case the image should also not be used per No. 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. No. 17 says "The logo of a entity used for identification of one of its child entities, when the child entity lacks their own branding. Specific child entity logos remain acceptable." In this case, the logo is being used in Bulgarian Football Union and this is considered the "parent entity" while the national team is considered the "child entity" for Wikipedia purposes. This means that the logo can be used in "Bulgarian Football Union", but should not be used in the individual national team articles. - Marchjuly (talk) 21:58, 27 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Changes being made by BulgariaSources

edit

BulgariaSources has recently tried to make major changes to article by edits such as this and this. The changes includes some removing of reliable sources, undoing improvements and updates made by others, and re-adding match results which had been peviously removed as well as some changing of the sectioning/section headings, background colors, etc. The changes have been reverted with a request to discuss them on the article's talk per WP:BRD, but there has not been any response and no edit sums are left. Since this is a pretty major edit, I think it might be a good idea to discuss this and find out what others think to see if a consensus exists for all or some of the changes being made. - Marchjuly (talk) 16:34, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

He is a vandal inserting false data mainly to this but also other articles related to Bulgaria. He removes historical infrmation and replaces it with phantasy. I dont know why no one reported him and blocked him until now. Also, I noteced some editors were correcting parts of the article but at the end the article was a total mess with fake information added by him now mixed in between corrected information. That is why I reverted the article to a version prior to his first edit here. Now seems that the article is mostly OK, but from now on editors should revert all his edits and report him. FkpCascais (talk) 15:53, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
@FkpCascais: Just thought you should know that a discussion about BulgariaSources is currently ongoing at WP:ANI#Disruptive editing by BulgariaSources. If you or any other editor would like to comment about their behavior, then please feel free to do so there. Comments about the article content, improvements, etc. should continue to be made here. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Copypaste of entire article removed

141.215.74.54 (talk) 18:23, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not done - As it clearly states in the instructions to submit an edit request:-
"Please don't copy the entire article into the request. Only copy the part you're changing. If you copy the entire article ... another editor may remove your entire request."
This is not a "spot the difference competition" If you want to suggest a change, please request this in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
Please also cite reliable sources to back up your request, without which no information should be added to, or changed in, any article. - Arjayay (talk) 18:37, 18 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

BGBalrog (talk) 00:40, 31 March 2016 (UTC) *Note: BGBalrog copy-and pasted the entire article as part of their edit request. I removed it because it was unclear what they were requesting and because the formating/layout of this talk page were being affected in negative way. The article also contains non-free content which should not be posted on this talk page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:22, 31 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:28, 31 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hi BGBalrog. All you did was copy-and-paste the entire article onto the talk page after your edit request. Can you be more specific about exactly which part or parts of the article you would like to be edited and explain why those edits should be made? Please just don't copy and paste large sections of the article as your request since it's impossible to know what that's supposed to mean and because the article may contain non-free content which should not be posted on this talk page. If there are specific changes you would like to make, then make a new request in the proper format so that it can be easily reviewed by another editor. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:30, 31 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

edit

Hello, I have made a quick update edit on the FIFA Rankings, along with updates to the scores and upcoming fixtures. Along with this I have also added some interesting visuals for the honors section at the start of my edit. I have updated everything and checked for any source errors. Hopefully this gets accepted and once again thank you for your time.

@BGBalrog: Please do not simply copy and paste large sections of the article into your request. This makes it kind of hard to figure out what changes you are proposing and the wiki markup used in the article also causes problems with the formatting of this talk page. I suggest you break up your request into smaller ones and use the format suggest in the template . Please refer to Wikipedia:Edit requests for more specific details.
Finally, this seems to be the same request you made above in Talk:Bulgaria national football team#Semi-protected edit request on 5 April 2016. There's no need to repeat the same edit request more than once, especially when the first request has not been responded to yet. Please be patient and wait for an editor to review your original request. Try and remember that all Wikipedia editors are volunteers and that sometimes people get busy, so it make take some time for someone to respond. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:35, 5 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Section "Players"

edit

You should change the name of that section to "Current squad", because all other national team articles call that section that way.--31.16.65.94 (talk) 17:02, 24 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Vandal is back

edit

The vandal is back with the immaginary win over Austria and the immaginary participation in the 1930 FIFA World Cup. FkpCascais (talk) 20:27, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

You can start an SPI for the IP by going to WP:SPI and adding "BulgariaSources" in "How to open an investigation". This will add the new report to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BulgariaSources/Archive. The IP has also made edits at Bulgarian Empire, which may also not be appropriate. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:12, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Marchjuly: thanks, but he changes IP many times a day. Luckily, he uses one of those shared IP's easily recognisable. He totally vandalises sports and history articles making up everywhere Bulgarian victories. Not even in a sort of disputable cases, but clear pure making up f events. FkpCascais (talk) 18:00, 14 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Some of the used expressions in the article are too colloquial

edit

What kind of an article in an encyclopaedia has an expression such as "To add to the misery, [...]"? The material should NOT be treated as a football game commentary. Rbaleksandar (talk) 09:31, 21 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

URGENCY: Vandal is back as allways

edit

I urge regular editors to PLEASE take care of this article in a more efficient manner. I notice the vandal keeps on comming back (as expected) but what is disappointing is to see that regular editors revert just parts of his vandalisation and keep on editing. That is not possible. Whenever you see an ip changing history and changing first ever game result from 0:6 defeat to 0:0 draw and adding Bulgaria played 1930 WC please just revert it all. Otherwise legit edits start to be mixed with his phantasy ones and ends up a painfull work to correct it all so one has to inevitably just revert way back reverting a number of legit edits from other editors in between. So: when you see the vandal adding phantasy to history section, just be BOLD and revert him entirely. FkpCascais (talk) 20:07, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Agree - many of these changes are wrong. Tffff (talk) 21:32, 18 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
