‘The Old Chevalier House, Fore Street, Exeter’ by Charles Edmund Brock, about 1920-1930. This pencil and watercolour on paper depicts The Old Chevalier House Inn which was built during the Stuart Era, and was a classic oak and plaster building. The building was later destroyed during the Exeter Blitz of 1942.

Charles Edmund Brock (1870-1938) was an English artist who was a widely published illustrator, including drawing for publications of Jane Austen novels.
