English: Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan was constructed between 1801 and 1811. It was built to an enormous scale with an impressive stone colonnade, encircling a garden and fountain. It was inspired by the Basilica of St. Peter’s in Rome and was meant to be the country’s main Orthodox Church. |
