Description
English: The original East Texas Normal College building in Cooper, constructed in 1889 by the Cooper Joint Stock School District. The Cooper campus offered courses from the elementary through the college level. The two-story frame building housed not only the school but the Mayo family. A fire destroyed the building in 1894, one of the events that prompted the relocation of the campus to Commerce.
