Summary

Description The entrance to 36 Gramercy Park (East), designed by James Reily Gordon, completed in 1910. Formerly known as the "Gramercy Park Clubhouse", the Neo-Gothic building was home at various times to sculptor Daniel Chester French, actor John Barrymore, and Alfred Ringling who founded the Ringling Brothers Circus. The exterior also appeared in the 1949 MGM film East Side West Side as the apartment building where the parents of the character played by Barbara Stanwyck lived.
