Thanks for quick response to my question on Chinese. I use Windows XP and even after installing the East Asian language character set such that Chinese displays correctly on my screen, the sets themselves in the Windows character map (there are two: traditional and simplified Chinese) still display various symbols and signs, but not Chinese. That, of course, would be impossible because there are thousands of Chinese logographs. I think there is a numeric system used in conjunction with the character set. If I have a hand written Chinese character, there is way to input a number to produce that character on the screen. Does that sound right?
