Mother's Finest first albums...The Isley Brothers ( check out "The Heat is On & 3+3" LP's ), David Bowie ( "Fame" ) & the Stones ( "Miss You" & "Hot Stuff") all had heavy doses of both Funk & Rock vibes. The 80's blurred the line even further with groups like Sly Fox ( "Let's go All the Way"), Xavion ( "Eat your Heart out" ) & the musical experiments of Prince, The Time, Jesse Johnson, & even the Police's "Voices inside my Head", with that Heavy beat & groovin' Bass line...straight Funk right there!! And it's still around today-Know your Music. To say this genre is Bogus or should be Merged with some new Upstart classification like Funk Metal is akin to dismissing Hendrix as mere "Electric Blues"; it just ain't right!
