'''''Lilliput''''' was a small-format British monthly magazine of humour, short stories, photographs and the arts, founded in 1937 by the photojournalist [[Stefan Lorant]]; the first issue came out in July. It was sold shortly after to [[Edward G. Hulton]], and then editorship was taken over by [[Tom Hopkinson]] ([[1940]]). During the 1950s ''Lilliput'' was edited by [[Jack Hargreaves]]. The first 147 issues (until late 1949) had covers illustrated by [[Walter Trier]]; each design employed a man, a woman, and a dog. Contributors included [[Bill Brandt]], [[Brassaï]], [[Patrick Campbell]], [[Aleister Crowley]], [[Robert Doisneau]], [[C. S. Forester]], [[John Glashan]], [[Sydney Jacobson]]. [[Robert Graves]], [[Michael Heath (cartoonist)|Michael Heath]], [[Nancy Mitford]], [[Stephen Potter]], [[V. S. Pritchett]], [[James Boswell (artist)]], [[Ronald Ferns]] and [[Ronald Searle]]. From August 1960 it was merged within ''[[Men Only]]'' (which only later became pornographic).
