Govindpur Jhakhraha ([[Template:Lang-hi]]) is a small village in the Vaishali district of Bihar, in India. It is situated across NH 103 at 13 km east of district headquarter Hajipur. The village falls under Bakarpur Panchayat of Rajapakar revenue block. The population is 1260 according to 2001 census. Bajjika is the main dialect but Hindi and Urdu is the medium of study. English is understood and spoken by few elites of the village.

Location and Geographical Set-up
- Location: The village is loacated at 25°41′11″N 85°41′13″E / 25.6865°N 85.6869°E. The district headquarter town Hajipur and subdivisional town Mahua are located at 13km west and 18 km north respectively. The neighboring village are Shekhpura in the north, Gangajal and Dobarkothi in the south, Nirpura (Bakarpur) in east and Shyampur alias Mansoorpur in the west. NH 103 passes through the village and connects Hajipur on one end and Musari Gharari via Jandaha on the other. The village is located hardly at 35 km from the state capital Patna. One can reach easily to the state capital within one hour for the medical, educational and other facility available there.
- Climate & Terrain: Govindpur Jhakhraha has temperate monsoon type climate but extremes of winter and summer are experienced. During winter of December-January and hot months of May-June, people prefer to keep their business on hold. However, the monotonicity of hot summer is breaked with lichi, mango and marriage. Fagun and Chaitra (Feb-March) are the months of Vasant (Spring) celebration by worshipping Goddess Saraswati. Similarly, mild weather of Ashwin and Kartik (October-November) are enjoyed with fervour of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath Puja. The Southwest monsoon arrives here during mid-June and accounts for most of the rainfall extending from June to September. The occasional rainfall are received with retreating southwest monsoon before start of winter.
The village is the part of vast Gangetic plain at approximately 52m mean sea level. Whole of the village area is fertile land where greenary can be seen all over. All kinds of food grains and vegetables are produced here. People prefer to grow wheat, paddy, maize, lentils etc. In addition to the cereals, vegetables and tobacco are grown as cash crops. Due to high population density and continuous division of the family, farm area is very small. Nearly all farming is done for the subsistence of the family.
- Demographics: According to 2001 census data, 1260 people live in this village, out of which 682 are males and 578 females. Literacy level is lower than the national average. Approximately 150 families dwells in approximately 1 sq. km of the village area. Contrary to many places in Bihar, where dwellings units are constructed densely, houses are scattered here. Most of the families are patriarch and nuclear type where parents lives with their offsprings. Except few Muslims, all residents follow Hindu religion. Cast system are prevalent in the Hindu as well as Muslim of the village. Yadav is the dominant Hindu cast but slight number of Halwai, Barai, Luhar, Kurmi and Dusad is also present in the village. All Muslims belong to Lalman caste which is considered low in the hierarchy.

- By Road
- Very Good network of road and rail transport exists in the village connecting it to other parts of the district as well as state and the country. Buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws connect this village to the state capital Patna. District headquarter town Hajipur is well connected with the private and public road transport by NH 103.
- By Rail
- There is no rail line in Govindpur Jhakhraha. Chaksikandar is the nearest rail station at 1.5km south of this village. Hajipur-Barauni branch route of ECR connect this place to other parts of the country. Important trains like Guwahati Rajdhani Express(2235/2236), [[Janseva Express[[, Guwahati- Balia Express and other exress trains passing Chaksikandar do not have stoppages here. Train connecting national capital and other main cities in India are taken at Hajipur Jn. Hajipur is the headquarter of East Central Railway Zone (India) [1]. 5 pairs of local trains running every 3 hour have stoppages in Chaksikandar. - For air travel, nearest airport is located in Patna at 35 km from here. Loknayak Jai Prakash Airport Patna has regular flights to and from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ranchi.
- Tele-communication: BSNL is the only operator for the basic phone and broadband facility. Besides this, all major mobile phone operators viz. BSNL, Airtel, Idea, Tata Indicom, Reliance, Aircel and Uninor are providing their services in the village area. The extensive coverage and expansion of telecommunication has augumented the development in the area but same can be blamed for restructuring of the age old social as well as family value system.
- Bank & Postal facility: Vaishali Kshetriya Gramin Bank (Template:Lang-hi) is the only commercial bank operating in the village. The bank operates under the aegis of Central Bank of India. Beside regular postal services, Post Office in Chaksikandar also provides postal banking and insurance services.
