After the regime change In South Africa, the new government faced many problems. What to do with the many violations of human rights during the Apartheids regime. Why did they choose for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission? This research showed that the focus on providing a strong identity of the black population, instead of guarding a victim identity, played an important role to stop the cycle of violence and thereby fostering human rights, as violence and war are the worst enemies of human rights, especially for women.

This paper on the recent arrest of the ECHR, G.L. c Italy , explores the importance of the arrest... more This paper on the recent arrest of the ECHR, G.L. c Italy , explores the importance of the arrest for fundamental right to education under Article 2 Protocol No. 1 (art2P1) juncto Article 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). The legal issue of the case to be discussed is whether lack of financial resources justifies a Member State in failing to provide reasonable accommodation, as prescribed by law, to correct factual inequalities due to disabilities. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) found that it did not. The paper will further discuss whether the reasoning of the Court is consistent with case law or sets a more progressive precedent.
