Holl and adiuvantibus). The plates are clearer, the footnotes are more legible. Mind my Addenda to this book as well.
A császárkori birituális temető részlet (214 sír) monográfiája a Széchenyi Könyvtár(?) korszerűbb szkennelésében, sokkal jobb minőségben (72 rajzos tábla + 10 fekete-fehér fotó tábla (+ az 'Addenda', a főszerkesztő, Holl Imre döntése miatt kihagyott tárgyfotókkal) valamint lényegesen olvashatóbb, bőséges lábjegyzetekkel. Új feltöltés, mivel a cserét nem tudtam megoldani.

Tha catalogue part contains all important data concerning the material. In the discussion cremation and inhumation as a burial rite is dealt with; the former is linked with the customary means of burial of other Danube provinces. Burial customs are classified from novel view-points. While classifying the grave goods according their material (ceramics, glass ware and metal ware) the author has been enabled to fix several points of the absolute and relative chronology of the cemetery.

Holl limited the extension of the whole manuscript as well as the number of photo-tables and draws (this explains the annoying crowdedness), some of the grave-goods and stray-finds are missing from the published monography. These are added here in black&white photos attached to the drawing plates under the grave number in question. Other datas(decriptions, inventory numbers, etc) can be found in the text.

At least three ethnic groups can be distinguished on the basis of their burial rites: the autochtonous Illyrian-Pannonian population, the Eravisci, transferred here in the late La Téne period and south-western Celtic tribes, presumably Boii and Taurisci who arrived as immigrants at the turn of the 1st cent.AD.

It could be observed that cremation and inhumation co-ocurred in the same grave-pit in some cases. It can be assumed therefore that in case of later burial (Nachbestattung) change in funerary practice within one community or even family took place fairly rapidly.

A közzététellel Habsburg Ottó 105. születésnapjára emlékezem, aki mindvégig fáradhatatlan pártfogónk és protektorunk volt az Európai Unióban.
