Easy Closet Door DIY Upgrade
Difficulty: Medium Talk about a ✨GLOW UP✨. There is nothing like those huge renovations that give you jaw dropping before and afters, but I have to say, it’s the little changes over time that have me seeing our spaces in a whole new way!! We *actually* started this DIY Bifold Closet Door makeover LAST YEAR, and left one side partially done to see if it held up to the wear and tear in a kids room — which it did, flawlessly! So, cheers to the little things, with just a few pieces of wood, some paint and some elbow grease you can majorly upgrade your closet doors! What You Need • Wood (2 - 4x8x1/4” 5.2mm Sande Plywood + 10 - 1/4” x 1 1/2” x 8” Primed White PVC Lattice Moulding) • Wood Glue • Nails (we used a finish nailer, but you could use a hammer if you don’t have one) • Spackli
This was by far my largest (and longest) build of 2023. It took me about 4 months but it was well worth it. This entire fireplace wall could easily have costed us over $15,000 but I built it for just under $3,500. Plus now my parents have increased the value of their home and can enjoy more storage and cozy warm fires. Here is how : You can smoothly transition from your existing baseboard to your 3/4 inch trim boards by adding a simple and budget friendly base cap trim upside down on your existing tapered baseboard. This will transition from the standard baseboard curved top to your 3/4 inch trim and eliminate any ugly overhang. I used a Woodgrain baseboard from Home Depot.
