We decided not to introduce fruits right away to avoid a preference for sweet flavors, making it easier to introduce other foods later. We offered both finger foods and purées so our baby could explore different textures and flavors. The goal of the first week was simply to show our baby that there’s more out there beyond breast milk. If she tasted something, that was amazing!
