Dr. Muhammad Ekramul Haque

Muhammad Ekramul Haque Ph.D. is a Professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at the University of Dhaka (https://www.du.ac.bd/body/faculty_details/LAW/333 ), obtained his Ph.D. in Constitutional Law and International Law from Monash University, Australia. His latest publication is The Constitutional Law of Bangladesh: Progression and Transformation at its 50th Anniversary (Springer Singapore 2023 https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-981-99-2579-7 ). He has established a YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/ProfessorEkramLawLectures) which broadcasts law lectures on constitutional law and diverse legal issues. He serves as a member of editorial boards in several law journals. Professor Haque has authored three law textbooks: Law of Contract; Muslim Family Law: Sharia and Modern world; and Islamic Law of Inheritance: Rules and Calculations. He acts as a resource person for the training of Judges and Government Officials in Bangladesh. He has delivered law lectures as an invited speaker in different universities and conferences at home and abroad. In the last decade, Dr Haque has been one of the leading scholars in the fields of constitutional law and comparative constitutional law in Bangladesh. His contributions to the study of constitutional law of Bangladesh focus on how comparative constitutional experience and international law reflect and help shape the understanding and developing contents of Bangladeshi constitutional provisions and their interpretations. He is a co-editor of “Implementation of Sustainable Development in the Global South: Strategies, Innovations and Challenges” (HART Publishing UK, forthcoming).
