Brian Crawford on Instagram: "*Geppetto…Pinocchio is next up! What a beautiful film this is. It’s truly a work of art and should be regarded as such! The backgrounds (by Claude Coats and others) and fluid, detailed animation are nearly unmatched compared to other Disney films. Each time I watch Pinocchio I find myself looking for details, especially animated shadows that are in sync with the action (see the mother spanking her child 😳). One scene I enjoy particularly is this featuring Geppetto’s clocks. Which clock is your favorite? Also, Geppetto wondering what time it is..🤣🤣🤣 His pocket watch isn’t bad!!! #pinocchio #disneypinocchio #disneyanimation #disneyfilms #disneyfilm #disneymovies #disneymovie #geppetto #figarothecat #figaro #disneyanimals #disneydetails #disneyhistory #retr

Brian Crawford on Instagram: "Happy New Year and Happy Walt Wednesday! Walt Disney tells us where he found his first star, Virginia Davis, who starred as Alice in The Alice Comedies from 1923-1925. These groundbreaking cartoons allowed Walt Disney to carve his niche in the world of animation by inserting a human character into a cartoon world. Viriginia, born on 12/31/1918, was hired by Walt when he operated Laugh-O-Gram studios in Kansas City. After Walt moved to Los Angeles he convinced Virginia and her family to move to the area after being awarded a contract to produce more episodes of the series. Virginia appeared in 15 of the 57 episodes of the series. She was named a Disney Legend in 1998. The Alice Comedies were released on the Walt Disney Treasures DVD series, but have since ent

Brian Crawford on Instagram: "December 31st of this year would’ve been Tim’s 84th birthday. Here he is with Tommy Kirk talking about his Hardy Boys days with Leonard Maltin! It’s amazing that their deaths were only about 5 months apart (Tommy on 9/28/2021 and Tim on 3/3/2022). Mr. Considine was a terrific child actor for Walt Disney in addition to his long run as Michael Douglas on My Three Sons. For Disney he made his first appearance as Spin Evans on the hugely popular Mickey Mouse Club serial, Spin and Marty. He was in all three seasons of that show, a couple of Hardy Boys series, the Annette series and a prominent role in The Swamp Fox as Gabe Marion, the nephew of The Swamp Fox, Francis Marion (played by Leslie Nielsen). The only Disney feature film he appeared in was The Shaggy Dog i

Disney History on Instagram: "Walt Disney passed away on December 15, 1966, at the age of 65. Diagnosed with lung cancer just a month earlier, he spent his final days at St. Joseph’s Hospital, located across the street from his studio. Even in the hospital, Walt spoke passionately about his plans for a futuristic prototype city, which would later inspire EPCOT. Visitors recalled how he visualized it, mapping out his ideas on the ceiling tiles of his room. This clip from The Man Behind the Myth features Diane Disney Miller, Walt’s daughter, sharing a memory of seeing her Uncle Roy comforting Walt just after he passed. Animators Ward Kimball and Ollie Johnston reflect on the loss, and Buddy Ebsen, Walt’s Davy Crockett co-star, remembers hearing the news over the radio. #disneyhistory #walt
Disney Cicerone on Instagram: "Still can’t believe I said that… I didn’t realize what I was saying 🙈😂 This is just the tip of the iceberg for the hundreds of details in this queue that reference either Haunted Mansion history or are subtle foreshadowing for what is to come. We are currently inching our way through the queue on our Distory with Kate & Kirk P0dcast to try to catch as many of them as possible, and its been a fun (and hilarious) journey so far 😂 The Fox sisters started the spiritualism movement in New York in 1848 when they tried to communicate with the spirit of a 💀 peddler in the celler of their house using a series of coded knocks. They later revealed in 1888 that the “rappings” were just them cracking their knuckles and joints to produce the sound, but by then the sp
