Kristen | Play-based Learning on Instagram: "Here’s a simple DIY chia pet rock activity. Comment INFO if you’d like the directions sent to you! Note: this only works if you’re following. If you want to try this at home, we used tempera paint sticks to make the faces. We then soaked the chia seeds (to make almost a paste-like consistency) and rocks in water before spreading the “hair” over the top of rock. From there, my kids sprayed each with water 3-4x per day. The more porous the rock, the better. Tips: ✔️ Water several times a day ✔️ Layer the chia seeds on so they don’t dry out ✔️ Keep the rock moist (if you’re struggling with this, add a wet paper towel over it until the seeds germinate) I recommend watering them all over, but watering them in the same spot every day (like

We're partnering with @bakerrossltd to inspire you to slow down and relish the joy and relaxation that come from creating. This is very achievable for kids, but also fun for adults. For this craft I used some lovely supplies from Baker Ross including their individual PVA (school) glue bottles. These have a nozzle for easy dispensing and were perfect for this project and I will link in stories ✨ Please note, they come with a little spreader which is usually very useful but I snipped off for this purpose!
