"Radiant, the sun shining though the clouds as it sinks into the horizon. This print is based on a photo I took while driving home at the end of the day. I am constantly amazed by the variations of colors and shapes in the sky at the end or beginning of the day. This is an 8 color reduction print inspired by the beautiful colors created by the sun setting. The print image is 8\"x12\" and the paper size is 11\"x14\". It is a limited edition of 19, printed on Stonehenge Legion paper and printed with Cranfield Safewash inks. Each print is signed, numbered, and titled. This is a reduction print. After the image is transferred to a linoleum block, the same block is carved away, more and more, printing colors in between, until the image is complete. This destroys the block. He's Chuck McOwl. He may not be the wisest owl in the woods, but he's the most adorable. This is an open edition linoleum print, designed, carved, and hand-pulled by the artist. Block-type printing (of which lino printing is a subset) intrigues me. Because they're hand-inked and -pulled, each print can have slight variations, affording the customer a unique print.
