As the "one truly" Greek god manifests himself "in a variety of forms"1, throughout his argument, Nietzsche bring the image of Dionysus and his primordial unity to reemerge from the light of the apparent surface. In his proposal, the philosopher reveals and re-evaluates the image of the Greek god's true form, and the meaning he attributes to him, through a constructive climax, which gets to its highest understanding with the analogy of Dionysus with the myths of Prometheus and Oedipus addressed in chapters nine and ten. Such recovery, is observed through the progressive comprehension of Dionysus within the multiple components of Greek tragedy as opposed to his divine counterpart, Apollo.
