WHICH WAY TO GO ....

Good morning

I have 2 days left at the eastgate shopping centre craft fayre. So far so good but as Im  on day 13 I'm getting tired, one more day to go then back to the day job on Monday.

Today I'd like to share a wee creation I made using products from The Works ( gesso, paint, the wooden signpost, some of the dies, small glitter bottles,  and the bling). Other dies are from xcut, hunkydory and Ebay.

First I covered the whole thing in white gesso then mixed up pastel tones of the various colours. Once dry I used silver gilding wax to give a distressed look. Die cut the elements and worked out their placement. Glued the glitter jars with a hot glue gun then pva to attach the die cuts. Bling added around the edges and lastly a ribbon to hang it glued on the reverse.

Makes a lovely addition to my stall and is looking for a home in a little girls bedroom.

Thanks for stopping by today.

SMALL DIE CUT GIFT BOXES

Today I'd like to showcase a Tonic sweet nothings die used to make small gift boxes.

I have cut the die using white pearl card and poked out all the unwanted parts of the design. Then cut 2 rectangles in the purple card. One to cover the inside of the floral cut panel and one for the back panel.

Next I cut the 2 elements for the butterfly. This is a die from a triple set from The Works. I mounted the filigree cut one on top of the purple backing then added some gems to form its body. This was then attached to the purple back panel of the box. I added gems all around the box as a nice decorative feature.

I then  glued all the flaps of the box together to keep it closed. All except the top opening. Next I created a little bow and glued a gem to the centre, this was attached to the front top of the box.

Once dry that's the box all ready to pop in a gift.  I made one with gems all around and another with some decorative glitter ribbon as couldn't decide what looked better. Thanks for stopping by.

CANVAS WALL HANGINGS

Some people do not like painting or are daunted by the size of a white canvas so if that's you then why not try using your canvases in a different way and still make wall art but with paper, card and embellishments instead

Here I have made 4 different types of canvas art using scrapbook paper, die cutting and embellishments.

Work out your theme and colour scheme just as you would when card making, plan the dies to use and their placement, not that it always goes according to your initial plans.

Cover the canvas in your chosen paper with a pva glue. Double sided tape works great with paper to card but not to the canvas as need a proper wet adhesive.
While waiting on that to dry cut out the dies you propose to use, emboss them if necessary.

Test out their placement on the canvas where you think looks appealing, probably changing your mind several times over!! Once happy again adhere with pva glue.

Now the fun bit, add some glitter as accents, attach your embellishments then set aside to dry. I find attaching them with a glue gun worked best as you dont want things falling off when the canvas is hanging up.

Lastly sit back and admire your creation.

RECENT MAKES FOR THE CRAFT FAYRE

Sharing some of my recent makes that I am selling at the eastgate centre craft fayre

Everyone has heard of it at least made a fairy door well this is a witches door. Same principle but with wiccan elements rather than fairy.
I painted the door and frame then used gilding wax to distress. Mod podge as a sealant to protect it.  Added some twine with leaves for foliage, gems, a crystal ball and made a broomstick out of a diesel rod, twigs and twine. Added a charm onto the door ribbon and put a small jar with star sequins on the door frame.

Next is my witches wands, these are such fun to name. A long dowel, hit glue gun, black geese, gilding wax, twine, beads and charms is all you need.
Take the dowel and glue gun and cover it in different shapes, swirls and patterns to suit. If you put larger blobs you can add beads into the glue. Once set hard glue on any charms or other items like twine. Once set cover everything in black gesso and set aside to dry.
Lastly use a gilding wax to highlight areas. Then cover in mod podge to seal.
I am going to do a step by step tutorial on making these very soon. Stay tuned.

Decorated boxes. Boxes covered in geesso initially then painted. Embellishments added, cover I  gesso if necessary, then apply gilding wax to accent areas. Lastly seal with mod podge. I sprayed a gold sparkly glitter spray over these ones just to see how it looked and they came out pretty well.

Some fairy wish baubles and other decorated boxes.

The ever popular fairy doors.

Fairy nests

More decorated wooden boxes

My passion going back years was always card making. Nowadays I only really create fantasy cards with unicorns fairies etc but still make to order if asked,
