Nasi goreng is an Indonesian fried rice that gained prominence internationally, usually not translated in the menu. Considered national dish, it usually uses Indonesian soy sauce. Optional toppings and condiments include: a sunny side egg (usually called "nasi goreng spesial"), fried shallots, Indonesian crackers (krupuk), Indonesian sambals, and fritters on the side. There are many variations and meat options. Vegetarian option is also available (without meat and eggs).
