English: The earliest preserved mansions in England date back to the 10th century. Depending on time period, they show a wide range in architectural designs. Many of the mansions, palaces and country houses became style-defining for the domestic architecture both within the UK and in other Western countries. – The construction dates given may not reflect the facade style which may have been altered over time with the architectural fashions. – This page offers only a selection of the media that are available in the Wikimedia Commons. For more conclusive collections see Category:Palaces in England, Category:Listed houses in England, Category:Mansions in England, and Category:Country houses in England.
