"In the seventh year of Yŏn'ga, kimi (539), the respectful disciple Monk Sungyon, abbot of the Eastern Temple in Nangnang of Koguryo, together with forty other masters and pupils made [images of] the Thousand Buddhas of the Bhadrakalpa and disseminated them to the world.
