English: Wyche Witch. Atop the memorial shelter close to the Wyche Cutting is this delightful weather vane. Wyche is old English for salt (as in Droitwich, Nantwich etc). The cutting through the hills being a salt route took on the name which has nothing of course to do with witches, but a weather vane depicting salt crystals would not be half as much fun.80927 |
