Summary
[edit]DescriptionWellingborough Station - geograph.org.uk - 1521191.jpg |
English: Wellingborough Station A parcels train passes a departing express, both hauled by Class 45 locomotives which were the chief form of motive power on this line from the early 1960's until the mid 1980's.
Note the semaphore signals and the Midland Railway signal box in this 1982 view. The signal in front of the bridge has a white sighting board to ease visibility for the drivers. The semaphores have been replaced by colour lights and the signal box has long since been removed. The footbridge from which this photo was taken has gained a tinted glass roof which would render this shot impossible now. The bridge beyond carries Mill Road across the railway. |
