Description
Español: Es un sobrio edificio que se ubica en el corazón de Toluca, tiene un diseño minimalista y una fachada de tezontle que lo hacen armonizar con los edificios neoclásicos adyacentes.

Este emblemático teatro fue diseñado por los reconocidos arquitectos Guillermo Shillet, Ángel Azorín Poch, Jesús Valvia, Gustavo Galco y el ingeniero Carlos Visoso, bajo la dirección del ingeniero Armodio del Valle Arizpe. El teatro comenzó a construirse en 1966 y se inauguró en 1969. Su creación impulsó el arte teatral en Toluca e impactó en la vida cultural de la época.

En 2014, con motivo del bicentenario luctuoso del general José María Morelos y Pavón, fue remodelado: se mejoró el sistema acústico; se optimizaron los camerinos, los sanitarios y el vestíbulo; aumentó el aforo; se habilitaron accesos para personas con discapacidad, entre otros cambios.

En este sitio se presentan obras de teatro, actos música, danzas, espectáculos infantiles y conferencias.
