Description
English: Macanao Peninsula is a virtually untouched area of Margarita Island and almost uninhabited. There are many endangered species in this area, as Amazona barbadensis. The main problem in recent years is the pollution caused by waste dumped from fishing boats and debris left on beaches by residents.
Español: La península de Macanao es una zona prácticamente virgen de la Isla de Margarita y casi deshabitada. Existen cantidad de especies en peligro de extinción en esta zona, como al Amazona barbadensis. El principal problema en los últimos años es la contaminación, producida por los desechos arrojados de barcos pesqueros y desperdicios dejados en sus playas por habitantes.
