| Description |
Deutsch: Personenwaage (Spiegelwaage) "JARASO Kugellager-System". Höchstwahrscheinlich war die Waage ursprünglich im Bruchsaler Krankenhaus im Einsatz. Die zu wiegende Person konnte sich auf die Platte oben auf der Waage stellen. Das Ziffernblatt ist spiegelverkehrt beschriftet. Der Grund hierfür ist, dass unten an der Waage ein aufklappbarer Spiegel angebracht ist, der mit einer Kette in Position gehalten wird. Auf diesem Spiegel kann eine auf der Waage stehende Person dann ihr Gewicht ablesen. Es können maximal 125 kg gewogen werden. Die Waage kostete 1912 in Deutschland 18 Mark, in England 22,5 £ . Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg verdoppelte sich der Preis in England auf 45 £ . Verwendet wurden diese Waagen im Medizinischen Bereich und im Privathaushalt. Da an diesem Exemplar keine Eichstempel zu finden sind, ist von einer Verwendung im privaten Umfeld auszugehen.
Am Ziffernblatt steht D.R.P. (steht für Deutsches Reichs Patent). Eine Patentschrift konnte leider nicht gefunden werden, jedoch eine Anmeldung als Gebrauchsmuster. In den Datenbanken des DPMA ist sie erstmals unter "D.R.G.M. DE 556 788Jahrgang 1918 - Heftnummer 26. - Seite 418 - Klasse 42f." zu finden. Dabei handelt es sich hierbei um eine Meldung, dass das Gebrauchsmuster nicht erloschen ist, sondern verlängert wurde. Logischerweise müsste es dazu ein paar Jahre früher den Eintrag der Anmeldung existieren, mit vertretbarem Aufwand leider nicht zu finden war. Auf Grund der damals geltenden gesetzlichen Bestimmungen, wurden die Gebrauchsmusterunterlagen vor 1936 (Beschreibung, Ansprüche, eventuell Zeichnungen) vernichtet. Ein weiteres Gebrauchsmuster ist in den Patentblättern unter der Nummer 556 788 (siehe den Link zu dem relevanten Patentblatt unter "Weblinks") nachweisbar. Die Anmeldungen selber sind leider im Zweiten Weltkrieg verloren gegangen. Die Waage wurde auch im British Patent No. 23493/1910 patentiert (die Patentschrift ist leider nicht mehr vorhanden) und später ab 1911 auch in anderen Ländern wie Italien, US, ..English: Personal scales (mirror scales) ‘JARASO ball bearing system’. The scales were most probably originally used in the Bruchsal hospital. The person to be weighed could stand on the plate at the top of the scale. The dial is labelled mirror-inverted. The reason for this is that a hinged mirror is attached to the bottom of the scale, which is held in position by a chain. A person standing on the scales can then read their weight on this mirror. A maximum of 125 kg can be weighed. The scales cost 18 marks in Germany in 1912 and £22.5 in England. After the First World War, the price in England doubled to £45. These scales were used in the medical sector and in private households. As there are no calibration stamps on this example, it can be assumed that it was used in a private environment.
The dial is labelled D.R.P. (stands for Deutsches Reichs Patent). Unfortunately, a patent specification could not be found, but an application for registration as a utility model. It can be found for the first time in the DPMA databases under ‘D.R.G.M. DE 556 788Volume 1918 - Issue number 26 - Page 418 - Class 42f.’. This is a notification that the utility model has not lapsed, but has been renewed. Logically, there should have been an entry of the application a few years earlier, which unfortunately could not be found with reasonable effort. Due to the legal provisions in force at the time, the utility model documents prior to 1936 (description, claims, possibly drawings) were destroyed. A further utility model can be found in the patent gazettes under the number 556 788 (see the link to the relevant patent gazette under ‘Weblinks’). Unfortunately, the applications themselves were lost during the Second World War.
