Original description: The shallows along an Alaskan sandbar or lake edge were a convenient put-down location for a “Widgeon” seaplane engaged in spot checks of Alaska anglers in 1949. Here, C.L. Anderson, director of Alaska’s Territorial fisheries department and Louis McDonal.
