Summary
[edit]DescriptionSchinia scutosa.jpg |
The Spotted Clover (Schinia scutosa) is a moth of the Noctuidae family. John Curtis, the author of illustrated British Entomology (1823-1840), also called it "Marbled Wormwood Moth". It is found from Europe to southern Siberia, the Near East and the Middle East and from central Asia to Japan. In North Africa it is found from Morocco to Egypt. She wanders occasionally over the Alps, Pyrenees and Carpathians to the north and was even detected in Britain, Norway and Finland. The species inhabits mainly sagebrush steppes, grassy heaths. The larvae feed on Artemisia species, including Artemisia vulgaris, Artemisia campestris, Artemisia scoparia, Artemisia abrotanum and Artemisia dracunculus.
