Description
English: Rudolf von Scala (1860–1919) was an Austrian ancient historian. He studied at the universities of Vienna, Bonn and Tübingen. His habilitation at the University of Innsbruck was the first in his subject there. He also taught for a short time at the University of Graz. The portrait photo is part of a photo album from 1902 for the early retirement of chemistry professor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). His colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy in Innsbruck dedicated the faculty album to him.


Deutsch: Rudolf von Scala (1860–1919) war ein österreichischer Althistoriker. Er studierte an den Universitäten in Wien, Bonn und Tübingen. Seine Habilitation an der Universität Innsbruck war dort die erste in seinem Fach. Kurze Zeit lehrte er auch an der Universität Graz.

Das Porträtfoto stammt aus einem Fotoalbum um 1902 zur vorzeitigen Emeritierung von Chemieprofessor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). Die Kollegen der damaligen Philosophischen Fakultät in Innsbruck widmeten ihm das Fakultätsalbum.
