Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Oke Mogun, a sacred small hill in lle-Ife, lies near the Ooni's Palace. Here, the Ooni, wearing the Aare crown on the last day of Olojo festival, walks around the tree on the hill top doing three or seven circuits.

The number of circuits holds deep symbolic meaning: • Three circuits represent the passage of time - morning, afternoon, and night • Seven circuits signify the seven days of the week

This ancient tradition embodies the rich cultural heritage and Yoruba traditions of Ife, solidifying Oke Mogun's importance as a sacred site as well as one of the monument sites in Ile-ife.
