Description
Deutsch: Kirche und Denkmal in Mora.
Français : Église et monument à Mora.
Svenska: Mora kyrka, sedd från sydväst vid Mora gågata, i Mora kommun, Dalarnas län. I förgrunden syns statyn föreställande Sankt Mikael och draken, stående i en fontän, 155 m öster om kyrkan. Statyn som utgör portalfigur till ena änden av affärsgatan Kyrkogatan föreställer Sankt Mikael och draken och är utförd av Per Nilsson-Öst (1918-2012), samma konstnär som gjort Vasalöparen eller Vasaloppsåkaren. Statyn kom på plats 1980. Sankt Mikael och draken pryder även Moras vapen. Statyn föreställer Mikael när han dräper draken. Det motivet finns i Mora stadsvapen. En teori om ursprunget och kopplingen till Mora, är att kyrkan under katolsk tid var helgad åt S:t Mikael. Det rör sig alltså om tiden fram till 1530-talet då den lutherska reformationen nådde Sverige.
