English: So-called Portrait of Archduchess Maria Maddalena of Austria (1589-1631), widow of Cosimo II de' Medici (1590-1621), but is probably a depiction of Anna Juliana Gonzaga (1566-1621), widow of Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria (1529-1595).
  • Identification proposed by user Ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of Anna Gonzaga dressed as widow (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to verified representations of Maddalena of Austria.
