Description Lot 11609-9: Lord Louis Mountbatten sees his Commandos off before the epic three services raid on Norway, December 1941. Lord Louis Mountbatten, whose appointment as Chief of Combined Operations, developed Commando Operations. The success of the operations, instanced in the combined forces on Norway and on occupied France, depended on coordination between the Army, Naval, and Air Force units. Mountbatten is shown inspecting the Commandos before their departure. Office of War Information Photograph. (2015/10/23).
