Description
Español: El lobo ibérico, científicamente conocido como Canis lupus signatus, es una subespecie de lobo que habita en la Península Ibérica. Es considerado uno de los mamíferos más emblemáticos y carismáticos de la región.

El lobo ibérico tiene un aspecto imponente, con un cuerpo robusto y pelaje espeso que varía en tonos de gris y marrón. Su tamaño puede variar, pero generalmente los machos son más grandes que las hembras. Poseen patas fuertes y una cabeza prominente con orejas puntiagudas.

Estos lobos son animales sociales que viven en manadas familiares, lideradas por una pareja reproductora. Son excelentes cazadores y su dieta se compone principalmente de ungulados como ciervos, corzos y jabalíes, aunque también pueden alimentarse de presas más pequeñas.

El lobo ibérico desempeña un papel fundamental en el ecosistema, regulando las poblaciones de presas y manteniendo un equilibrio natural. Sin embargo, han enfrentado numerosos desafíos debido a la pérdida de hábitat y la caza indiscriminada, lo que ha llevado a que se encuentren en peligro de extinción.

En los últimos años, se han implementado medidas de conservación para proteger al lobo ibérico y su hábitat. Se considera un símbolo de la naturaleza salvaje de la Península Ibérica y su preservación es crucial para mantener la biodiversidad y el equilibrio de los ecosistemas.
