Object history 1972: given to National Museum in Warsaw (MNW) by Jerzy Leskowicz collection
Notes Naga-ôban format print from the series "A True Mirror of Chinese and Japanese Poetry" (Shika shashin kyô / Shika shashin kagami), also called "Imagery of the Poets", each depicting a famous Chinese or Japanese poet and published by Moriya Jihei (Kinshindô). The poet here is not named, leading to confusion about the identity of the rider, possibly Su Shi (1037-1101), also known as Su Tungpo. Displayed during temporary exhibition Journey to Edo. Japanese ukiyo-e prints from the collection of Jerzy Leskowicz in the National Museum in Warsaw.
