Description
English: Karl Exner (1842–1914) was an Austrian mathematician and physicist. He completed his studies in Vienna, Zurich and Freiburg. He was appointed professor of mathematical physics at the University of Innsbruck in 1894. The portrait photo is part of a photo album from 1902 for the early retirement of chemistry professor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). His colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy in Innsbruck dedicated the faculty album to him.


Deutsch: Karl Exner (1842–1914) war ein österreichischer Mathematiker und Physiker. Er absolvierte seine Studien in Wien, Zürich und Freiburg. An der Universität Innsbruck wurde er 1894 zum Professor für mathematische Physik ernannt.

Das Porträtfoto stammt aus einem Fotoalbum um 1902 zur vorzeitigen Emeritierung von Chemieprofessor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). Die Kollegen der damaligen Philosophischen Fakultät in Innsbruck widmeten ihm das Fakultätsalbum.
