Brandon Hammond, Detachment 3, 21st Space Operations Squadron commander, and U.S. Space Force Col. James Smith, Peterson-Schriever Garrison commander, unveil the new sign after the installation’s renaming ceremony, June 16, 2021, at Ka’ena Point Space Force Station, Hawaii. Ka’ena Point was renamed to reflect its role in the Space Force, supporting more than 185 satellites performing mission operations around the globe and is the first of several garrison installations planning to do the same.
