Description
English: Johannes (elsewhere: Johann) Müller (1832–1919) was a classical philologist. He completed his studies at the universities of Bonn, Göttingen and Vienna. He habilitated at the University of Innsbruck, where he was later professor, dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and rector in 1889/1890. The portrait photo is part of a photo album from 1902 for the early retirement of chemistry professor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). His colleagues at the Faculty of Philosophy in Innsbruck dedicated the faculty album to him.


Deutsch: Johannes (anderswo: Johann) Müller (1832–1919) war ein Klassischer Philologe. Er absolvierte sein Studium an den Universitäten in Bonn, Göttingen und Wien. Die Habilitation erfolgte an der Universität Innsbruck, wo er später Professor, Dekan der Philosophischen Fakultät und 1889/1890 Rektor war.

Das Porträtfoto stammt aus einem Fotoalbum um 1902 zur vorzeitigen Emeritierung von Chemieprofessor Karl Senhofer (1841–1904). Die Kollegen der damaligen Philosophischen Fakultät in Innsbruck widmeten ihm das Fakultätsalbum.
