Summary
[edit]DescriptionEMP protector - quarter-wave shorting stub.jpg |
English: A lightning EMP protector (surge arrestor) with 7/16" thread coaxial connectors with a quarter-wave λ/4 shorting stub (QWS). Devices like this are used in Base Transceiver Stations (BTS). Since lightning interferences have a relative low frequency spectrum the λ/4 shorting stub act as a short circuit, conducting the lightning current to the ground. This quarter-wave shorting stub has a centre operating frequency of 980 MHz, the stub is approximately 7 cm in length |
