| Description |
English: Dunollie Castle The remains of the MacDougall stronghold of Dunollie date from the period 1200-1400, although archaeology indicates that the site has been occupied since the 7th century. The castle was forfeited after the failure of the 1715 Jacobite uprising but was subsequently returned. Dunollie was abandoned as a residence in 1746, although it does still remain in MacDougall ownership today. |
