Description
Deutsch: Das rund 66 ha große Schutzgebiet befindet sich im Übergangsbereich zwischen Geest und Marsch und wird geprägt durch ein reiches Mosaik von Elementen der naturna-hen Kulturlandschaft: Stillgewässer, Gräben, Röhrichte und Uferstaudenfluren, Seg-gen-, Binsen- und Staudensumpf, artenreiche Ruderalfluren und Grünland in unter-schiedlichen, vornehmlich aber feuchten und nassen Ausprägungen.

Das Gebiet bietet einer Vielzahl besonders geschützter und bedrohter Tier- und Pflanzenarten und deren Lebensgemeinschaften einen gesicherten Rückzugsraum.

Zuständig ist der Landkreis Friesland als untere Naturschutzbehörde.
