Deutsch: Das Kreuz entstammt dem Wappen des früheren Landesherrn Kurköln, die Muscheln entstammen dem Wappen der Herren von Metternich, welche große Besitzgüter in der Gemeinde hatten. Die Hämmer stehen für den frühreren Abbau von Bleierz im Ortsgebiet.
