Description Postcard depiction of the observation car of the Chesapeake and Ohio train The Chessie.

to 1950 Chessie (train). The railroad ordered the train cars in 1944, but they were not completed until 1948, due to WWII. By 1950, the railroad's fortunes had changed and they were forced to either use the equipment on other routes or to sell it to other lines.
